Description  

Adheseal S100 is our neutral-cure, sanitary silicone formulated with a mould-inhibiting fungicide for bathroom, shower and kitchen joints. It seals around tiles, shower screens, sinks and sanitary fittings, with added fungicide to inhibit mould and biological growth in humid areas.

Bathroom and kitchen joint sealing

Use S100 around shower screens, tiled corners, baths, basins, laminated benchtops and splashbacks. It suits compatible porcelain and ceramic tiles, glass, enamel, sanitary acrylics, fibreglass and aluminium. With ±30% joint movement capability, the cured silicone stays flexible where adjoining materials expand and contract.

Important compatibility notes

S100 is not paintable and is not suitable for structural glazing, mirror bonding, aquariums or underwater application. Stain-test natural stone, and avoid polycarbonate sheeting and untested composite panels. S100 can discolour copper and brass.

Common Questions  

Can S100 be applied underwater or used in aquariums?
No. Do not apply S100 underwater or use it in aquariums, swimming pools or ponds.

What joint size does S100 need?
Use a 2:1 width-to-depth ratio where specified. Internal joints need at least 5 mm width and depth, and external joints at least 10 mm. Use backing rod to avoid three-sided adhesion.

Can I paint over S100?
No. S100 is not paintable. Choose a paintable sealant if you need to paint the finished joint.

Can I use S100 on marble or granite?
Complete a stain test before using S100 on marble, granite or other natural stone.

How long does S100 take to cure?
S100 cures at approximately 2 mm per day at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. Joint size and site conditions affect the time. Skin time is about 20 minutes.

Uses & Benefits  
Sanitary silicone with added fungicide to inhibit mould growth in kitchens, bathrooms, and showers. Neutral oxime cure, so it will not corrode metal fittings or attack concrete. Takes up to +/- 30% joint movement and stays flexible from -50°C to 150°C.
How To Apply  
Clean the joint so it is dry and free of dust, oil, and old sealant. Cut the nozzle at 45° to suit the joint, push the sealant firmly into the joint, and tool it within about 20 minutes with a damp spatula. It cures at about 2 mm per day at 25°C and 50% relative humidity. Clean tools and excess with white spirit before it cures. Remove cured sealant mechanically.
Limitations and Safety Info  
Do not use in totally confined spaces, and do not apply it underwater or in aquariums, pools, or ponds. Not for structural glazing or mirrors. For structural glazing, use Adheseal N-80 or N-60 glazing silicone. For mirrors, use High Power 609, and test first. Not for polycarbonate sheeting or untested composite panels. It can discolour copper and brass, and you cannot paint over it. Test marble, granite, and other natural stone for staining first. Apply between +5°C and +35°C.
Suitable Substrates  
  • Suits: Glazed and unglazed ceramic tiles, porcelain, vitreous enamel, glass, laminated benches and splashbacks, sanitary acrylics, fibreglass, and aluminium.
  • Preparation: Surfaces must be sound, dry, and clean. Wipe non-porous surfaces twice with acetone or 100% white spirits.
  • Concrete: Cure for at least 28 days before sealing.
  • Primer: Adhesion test first. Use Adheseal 50A on non-porous surfaces and Everflex Supaprime on porous surfaces.
