Clips and wedges form a levelling system that reduces lippage on large format tiles. Spacers set consistent grout joint gaps between tiles. Use a levelling system on floor tiles wider than 300 mm. Use spacers on standard wall tiling.
Do I need both clips and wedges?
Yes for a levelling system. The clip sits under the tile edge and the wedge locks it. Panther clips pair with Panther wedges. BAT Trims wedges work alone as standalone spacers.
What tile thickness do levelling clips support?
DTA Flat Out clips accept tiles from 2 mm to 12 mm thick. Panther clips accept tiles from 3 mm to 12 mm thick. Both leave a 1.5 mm grout joint. Thinner tiles need a system with a lower minimum.
Are wedges reusable?
Panther levelling wedges and BAT Trims tile wedges are reusable. Remove them after the adhesive sets. BAT Trims tile crosses are reusable in some applications but often stay in the joint and get covered by grout.
What temperature range do levelling systems tolerate?
DTA Flat Out clips handle 5 to 40 degrees Celsius. BAT Trims wedges handle 5 to 35 degrees. BAT Trims crosses handle minus 10 to 50 degrees. Store all systems out of direct sunlight and away from freezing.
