What work belongs in Window, Shopfront & Perimeter Weatherseal?
This stage covers general glazing, window and shopfront perimeters, skylights, and non-structural weatherseals. Pasco 911 is the exact assigned Product. SA Contractors and Adheseal N70 are direct-evidence candidates. Several further candidates were flagged for owner confirmation and are not in this stage until approved.
Are these Products suitable for structural glazing?
No general structural approval is implied. Several perimeter candidates, including Adheseal N70, expressly exclude structural glazing or are documented for perimeter and wet-area work. Use the manufacturer's dedicated structural system where required, and treat this stage as perimeter weathersealing only.
Why were some wet-area silicones left out?
Pasco 912 and Bostik 6S mention glass, aluminium, or window surrounds, but their primary descriptions focus on bathrooms, showers, kitchens, and sanitary joints. They may support some glazing-adjacent work without belonging in a dedicated Glazing shelf. The trades owner decided to keep that overlap in Waterproofing or Tiling rather than this stage.
What substrates are represented in the evidence?
The local evidence names glass, aluminium, painted or powder-coated metal, steel, timber, ceramic, and other building substrates across different Products. These lists are Product-specific, not a universal compatibility claim. Check the selected Product's own preparation, adhesion, staining, cure, and exposure instructions before applying a sealant to a glazing interface.
What is the difference between a perimeter seal and structural glazing?
A perimeter weatherseal closes and protects the interface around a frame or panel; it is not automatically a load-bearing bond. Structural glazing transfers designed loads through an approved glass-to-frame system.
