Everflex Aqua-Ban Elastomeric Waterproof Membrane

Everflex Aqua-Ban is a water-based, microfibre-reinforced Class III SBR waterproofing membrane for showers, bathrooms, laundries, balconies and terraces that will be finished with compatible tiles or stone. It cures into a continuous, flexible barrier beneath the finished surface.

Choose Aqua-Ban for under-tile waterproofing, particularly on prepared concrete, screeds, fibre-cement sheeting and approved timber-based substrates. It is not intended to remain exposed to the sun or everyday foot traffic. Typical applications

• Shower floors and walls: waterproofing prepared wet-area surfaces before compatible tiling.
• Bathrooms and laundries: forming a continuous membrane beneath the specified floor and wall finishes.
• Covered balcony and terrace systems: waterproofing before tiles or pavers, with properly designed drainage, junctions and movement joints.
• Compatible sheet floors: coating prepared structural plywood, cement sheet and other approved substrates within a complete system.

Getting the system right

Use a suitable primer for the substrate: Everflex WBP is a common choice for porous internal surfaces, while external systems may require Everflex VBS or another specified primer. Address corners, penetrations and movement joints with the correct fillets, bond breakers or joint tapes first. Apply at least two coats at right angles, checking film build to achieve the required 1 mm minimum dry film thickness or the applicable system design.

Allow sufficient drying and curing before tiling, and use a confirmed compatible adhesive. Do not apply to wet, contaminated or uncured substrates, over rising damp or under negative hydrostatic pressure. Aqua-Ban must be covered; it is not a final UV-exposed or trafficable waterproofing finish.
