Reduce water and chloride penetration into exposed concrete while retaining water-vapour permeability. Sikagard®-705 L is a ready-to-use, low-viscosity silane impregnation containing 99% active ingredient. It penetrates absorbent concrete and suitable cementitious substrates rather than forming a surface membrane.
Hydrophobic protection for marine and civil concrete
Suited to specified building and civil structures exposed to rain, splash water, chloride-bearing environments and de-icing salts, Sikagard-705 L reduces capillary moisture absorption and associated ingress of dissolved aggressive agents. Sika classifies its penetration as EN 1504-2 Class II, greater than 10 mm, under stated test conditions.
Apply to clean, absorbent concrete
Apply undiluted by low-pressure spray, brush or roller, avoiding runs and surface ponding. Sika specifies approximately 150 g/m² per coat, depending on concrete absorbency and the required penetration depth, typically within a 2–3 coat treatment system. Check substrate moisture, temperature and any compatible protective topcoat requirements before work begins.
Pack and system selection
Supplied in an 18 kg pail (approximately 20 L by published density). This is a penetrating water-repellent treatment, not a crack-bridging waterproofing membrane.
