Everbond SP-230 Spray Contact is a solvent-based polychloroprene adhesive formulated for spray application to compatible upholstery foam, flexible coverings and laminates. It is suited to workshop and production-line jobs where even coating and quick contact bonding help keep assembly moving.
SP-230 is particularly useful for flexible polyurethane foam and neoprene foam, including automotive upholstery and fabricated insulation components. It can be applied through suitable conventional or automated spray equipment. Unlike a one-sided construction adhesive, contact bonding normally requires coating both surfaces, waiting for sufficient flash-off and pressing them firmly together.
Where to use SP-230
-
Vehicle and caravan interiors: bonding compatible foam, upholstery textiles, insulated panels and lining materials.
-
Furniture upholstery: contact bonding flexible polyurethane foams and suitable covering materials.
-
Shopfitting and laminated panels: spraying suitable coverings and decorative laminates onto prepared substrates.
-
Flexible duct and fabricated trim: bonding appropriate insulation and textiles during workshop assembly.
Choosing spray or brush contact adhesive
Choose SP-230 for controlled spray coverage, particularly with foam or larger-area assembly. For smaller, brush-applied laminate and trim work, compare Everbond Brush Contact. For bonds where visible adhesive could spoil the finish, see Ultra Clear Brush Contact.
Apply in a ventilated area with the appropriate solvent-handling controls. Allow coatings to flash off rather than trapping solvent between impermeable surfaces. Test real substrate combinations, especially plastics and foam; do not use on expanded polystyrene. Avoid excessively humid conditions and use appropriate pressure during assembly.
