For laminate and foam fabrication where rapid assembly and immediate bond strength are required, Everbond Brush Contact Adhesive is a thixotropic polychloroprene contact adhesive. It forms a high-strength, water-resistant bond with high initial grab, designed to secure materials under tension, such as cover trims and edging profiles, without slipping.
How it works
Everbond Brush Contact Adhesive is a one-component, yellow liquid that is applied to both mating surfaces. It features a very short flash-off time, drying in approximately 3 to 5 minutes under normal conditions. Bringing the two touch-dry surfaces together under strong, even pressure creates an immediate, aging-resistant bond. When used with the 2P additive, this adhesive system is capable of withstanding temperatures exceeding 120°C without bond failure, making it highly stable for automotive upholstery, transport vehicle production, and furniture upholstery applications.
Numbers that matter
-
6 to 8 m² per Litre coverage: Provides clear material planning and consumption tracking for fabrication runs.
-
3 to 5 minutes dry time: Extremely fast flash-off window speeds up assembly line pacing and manual fabrication.
-
10°C to 35°C application temperature: Safe operational range, with optimal bonding performance achieved when the atmosphere, substrate, and adhesive are all at +20°C.
Where to use it
This adhesive bonds a broad range of materials and is suitable for:
-
Substrates: Timber, MDF, particleboard, plastic laminates, rubber sheets, leather, fabric, cloth-backed vinyl, polyester-backed vinyl, concrete, glass, and metal sheets.
-
Transport vehicles: Room-temperature contact bonding of interior coverings (such as PUR foams and textiles) to adjoining steps, wheel arches, seat brackets, and side walls.
-
Upholstery: Automotive trim installations, furniture upholstery, and edge profile bonding where high spring-back forces occur.
Limitations
-
Temperature floor: Do not apply in temperatures below +10°C. Temperatures below this threshold can cause condensed water to form on the wet adhesive, preventing a successful bond.
-
Solvent entrapment: Do not apply excessive adhesive, allow it to pool, or join the substrates too early. Entrapped solvents will weaken the bond and cause surface blistering.
-
Open weave or porous materials: Everbond Brush Contact Adhesive may bleed through open-weave or porous substrates; Adheseal spray contact adhesive is recommended for these materials instead.
-
Container management: Once the container is opened, the material must be used up in a short time.
Application
Ensure all adhesion surfaces are clean, dry, and free of oils, fats, and loose or friable materials. Apply the adhesive evenly to both surfaces using a suitable rollcoater, tooth-comb, brush, or notched trowel. Avoid any pooling. Allow the adhesive to dry until it is touch dry (typically 3 to 5 minutes depending on local humidity and temperature), then join the components together using strong, even pressure. Clean up wet or excess adhesive using Acetone.
