Technical Overview

Sikalastic®-1K is a light grey, cementitious mortar with a maximum grain size of approximately 0.3 mm. It exhibits exceptional crack-bridging ability, tensile adhesion strength, and <\ctrl75>```html capillary absorption. The product provides reliable water penetration resistance under pressure and negative pressure, and it is permeable to water vapor while offering excellent resistance to carbon dioxide. Its Euroclass A2 reaction to fire rating ensures safety in various applications.

Chemical Properties: Cement modified with alkali resistant polymers, selected aggregates, fine fillers admixtures, additives and fibres.

Application Temperature Range: Apply between 5°C and 35°C for optimal performance. Substrate temperature should also be within this range.

Application Information

Required Tools: Low-speed hand drill mixer, brush, trowel, or spray equipment. Sika® Seal Tape S or Sikadur Combiflex® SG System for joints.
Trade-Specific Tips: Ensure substrates are structurally sound, clean, and properly dampened. Follow specific mixing ratios for brush or trowel application. Apply in at least two layers for standard applications.
Common Issues and Solutions: Do not smooth with a float or trowel. Protect from rain for 24-48 hours after application. Avoid direct contact with chlorinated water without protection.

How To Apply

How to apply Sikalastic®-1K:

Prepare the substrate to be structurally sound, clean, dry, and free of contaminants.
Mix Sikalastic®-1K with water according to the application method (brush or trowel).
Apply Sikalastic®-1K by brush, trowel, or spray, ensuring uniform coverage.
Apply in at least 2 layers for standard applications, or 3-4 mm DFT for negative pressure/immersed applications.
Wait until the first layer is dry before applying subsequent layers.

Limitations and Safety Info

Sikalastic®-1K limitations:

Sikalastic®-1K shall not be smoothed using a float or trowel.
Protect from rain for at least 24–48 h after application.
Avoid direct contact with chlorinated water i.e. in swimming pools, by using suitable protection.
Avoid application in direct sun light, when rain is imminent or in strong winds.
