Waterstop Streamline 90° Corner (2 Leg) is a pre-mitred waterproofing profile designed for L-shape residential showers to standardise screen alignment and ensure watertight integrity. Fabricated from 6463–T5 aluminium, this integrated system features a built-in tile height gauge to guide screed falls and a bullnose lip that helps a continuous seal between the membrane and frameless glass screens.

This Australian-manufactured solution simplifies compliance with AS 3740:2021 by providing a factory-squared 90° join that eliminates onsite cutting errors and prevents common delamination issues at the substrate interface.

Frequently Asked Questions About Waterstop Streamline – 90° Corner

Q: Can I install the 90° model over an existing screed?

A: No. It must be installed prior to screeding, as it acts as both a fall guide and a barrier. Install it first, then screed to the integrated tile gauge.

Q: Is the 90° angle pre-joined or do I join two straight pieces?

A: The 90° models are supplied as a single, preformed corner profile with two legs – no mitring required onsite.

Q: What if my shower isn’t perfectly square?

A: You can trim either leg onsite using a hacksaw or drop saw to match your actual dimensions. Ensure a tight wall fit for membrane sealing.

Q: Can this be used with frameless glass?

A: Yes. Frameless screens can be sealed directly to the bullnose lip using silicone, creating a seamless connection with the membrane below.

Applying Waterstop Streamline – 90° Corner: Protocols & Best Practices

General Application Steps:
  1. Dry Fit: Position the profile in the corner. Use a pencil to trace inside and outside lines of both legs.
  2. Surface Prep: Clean and prime if required. Apply continuous bead of urethane sealant between pencil lines.
  3. Install Profile: Gently press into position. Use level to confirm both legs are even. Wedge if necessary.
  4. Seal Ends: Apply urethane sealant at floor-to-wall junctions and corner gussets. Tool smooth for full adhesion.
  5. Waterproof: Apply membrane under and up behind bullnose, avoiding the outer lip. Apply two full coats.
  6. Screed and Tile: Screed to tile gauge. Tile flush to both sides. Silicone screen to inner lip after tiling.

Limitations & Safety

Product limitations and safety information

Limitations:

  • Corner must be installed before screeding – cannot retrofit over tiles or screed.
  • Not designed for external waterproofing or UV-exposed use.
  • Must be square to ensure correct membrane and screen alignment.

Safety & Handling:

  • PPE: Wear gloves and protective eyewear during trimming or handling.
  • Handling: Avoid denting corner join. Always transport in box with protection in place.
  • First Aid: For cuts from sharp edges, rinse, bandage and seek help if deep. Avoid inhaling fumes from urethane or solvent-based sealants.

Waterstop Streamline – 90° Corner Adhesion & Preparation Guide

    Substrate preparation guidelines
  • Concrete Subfloors: Sweep clean. Mark inside and outside lines for reference. Apply urethane sealant and install profile square.
  • Timber Floors: Waterproof entire floor before installing profile. Use wedge levelling if required.
  • Membrane Compatibility: Works with sheet or liquid membranes. Always apply two coats inside the shower zone up to the bullnose lip.
  • Custom Corner Sizes: Profiles can be trimmed to suit site-specific dimensions. Pre-mark for leg length accuracy.
