For raised paving installations where individual tile or paver thicknesses vary, the Buzon U-E20 Shim is placed directly on the pedestal head to level the surface, eliminate paver rocking, and damp vibration.
What it does
The U-E20 is a 2mm clover-shaped shim made from durable SBR rubber. Installed on top of a Buzon pedestal, it acts as a shock absorber to deaden footstep noise and stabilise the laying surface. Because the clover design can be split into halves or quarters, installers can stack and position individual segments to level out minor production tolerances in the natural stone or concrete pavers.
Numbers that matter
- 2mm thickness: Provides a low-profile levelling increment to flush up uneven paver joints.
- 60-80 Shore A hardness (DIN 53505): Dense SBR rubber construction that resists compression under pedestrian loads while isolating acoustic vibration.
- -30°C to +70°C temperature range: Maintains mechanical properties under extreme sub-base temperatures without becoming brittle or melting.
- 3 MPa tensile strength (DIN 53504): Tough rubber composition that resists tearing when split along the segment lines during installation.
Limitations
Buzon pedestals and accessories are designed to support external raised floors for pedestrian traffic only. They are not designed to support or be subjected to moving or vibrating machinery and equipment, including maintenance vehicles, cleaning vehicles, automobiles, or similar heavy machinery.
