Megapoxy CT5 is a black, cold-pour epoxy encapsulant for traffic detector loops, weigh-in-motion sensors, roadway lighting and airport landing-light recesses. It flows around embedded cables and components in concrete or asphalt without the brittle finish of a conventional rigid grout.
Encapsulate traffic loops and runway lighting
Pour CT5 into prepared channels around inductive detectors, automatic-gate loops and embedded runway fittings. Its fast setting, non-brittle finish suits installations exposed to road movement and variable weather; fine dry sand or aggregate may be blended in for higher-build placements.
CT5 or a road-marker adhesive?
Choose CT5 to encapsulate wiring and sensors in channels. For bonding raised reflective markers or carpark hardware onto the road surface, use Megapoxy 36 DuoMix instead. The two products solve different problems.
Before you apply
Mix equal volumes of Parts A and B thoroughly for at least three minutes. Pour into a clean prepared channel within the eight-minute working time at 25°C. Minimum cure is six hours at 25°C, twelve hours at 15°C, or three hours at 35°C; these are cure values, not blanket traffic-opening approvals. Do not apply below 10°C.
What is Megapoxy CT5 used for?

Is Megapoxy CT5 the same as road-marker epoxy?
No. CT5 is poured into channels around embedded sensors and wiring. Megapoxy 36 DuoMix bonds markers and hardware onto road surfaces.
How quickly does CT5 cure?
Minimum cure is six hours at 25°C, twelve hours at 15°C and three hours at 35°C. Reopening a roadway or airfield also depends on the installation requirements.

Prepare and clean the cut channel, then mix equal volumes of Parts A and B for at least three minutes, scraping the container edges. Pour the black epoxy into the sensor or cable recess during the eight-minute working time at 25°C. Add clean, dry fine aggregate after blending the resin if a less-flowable bulk fill is required. Minimum cure is six hours at 25°C.
Eight-minute working time at 25°C leaves little room for mixing and installation delays.
