UltraCare Smooth Silicone is a ready-to-use sealant-finishing aid that helps installers tool freshly applied sealant into a neat, compact joint. It reduces dragging as the finishing tool moves over the bead, making it easier to achieve a consistent appearance around tiled corners, sanitary fixtures and other visible joints.
The finishing step customers notice
Even a well-selected silicone can look untidy if the bead is uneven or pulled out of shape during tooling. Smooth Silicone helps the tool glide over compatible fresh sealants so the final joint looks deliberate and professional. This is useful on bathrooms, kitchen splashbacks and suitable internal or external sealant work where a clean joint line matters.
Pair with the correct sealant
Use alongside a suitable sealant such as Mapesil AC where the substrate and cure chemistry are compatible. MAPEI identifies compatibility across a range of sealant families, including acetic, neutral and polyurethane formulations; still follow the individual sealant's tooling instructions. It is not a silicone remover or a substitute for a correctly sized and prepared joint.
Before you start
Apply while the sealant remains workable, tool before skin formation and test unfamiliar surfaces. Avoid excessive finishing liquid or contamination of adjoining surfaces.
