MAPEI UltraCare Smooth Silicone: A Product Overview
MAPEI UltraCare Smooth Silicone is a ready-to-use, water-based smoothing solution developed for finishing flexible sealant joints during application. It's compatible with acetic, neutral, polyurethane and other sealants, giving applicators a straightforward way to achieve a smooth, compact finish.
Spray it onto the joint after applying the sealant and before the surface skin forms, then finish the joint with a suitable tooling device. There’s no dilution required, keeping the process simple and job-site ready.
The formulation does not leave residues and is suitable for most surfaces commonly used in the building industry, including ceramic tiles, stone and glass mosaic. It can be used indoors or outdoors, on walls and floors, giving trades a versatile finishing solution across a broad range of applications.
A smoother, less porous sealant surface helps minimise hollows where dirt can collect and contribute to future mould formation. When MAPEI UltraCare Smooth Silicone is used with specific sealants such as Mapesil AC or Mapesil LM, it can also enhance their mould-resistance properties by helping create a surface without porosities.
For predictable performance, test the product on a hidden area first to confirm compatibility with the surface and sealant being treated. Once confirmed, spray, tool the joint and keep moving with a cleaner, first-time-right finish.
