Technical Overview
Mapei Keracolor FF is formulated with a blend of cement, very fine-graded aggregates, special polymers, additives, and pigments. The inclusion of hydrophobic additives and BioBlock® technology ensures a high-performance grout that is both durable and easy to maintain. It provides excellent compressive and flexural strength, as well as resistance to freeze/thaw cycles.
Chemical Properties: Cementitious grout with polymer modifiers, hydrophobic additives (DropEffect®), and mould-resistant technology (BioBlock®).
Application Temperature Range: +5°C to +35°C (41°F to 95°F). Apply within this range to ensure proper setting and performance, avoiding extreme temperatures that can affect curing.
Application Information
-
Required Tools: Low-speed mixer, MAPEI trowel or rubber float, hard cellulose sponge (e.g., MAPEI sponge), Scotch-Brite® pad or disc-type power float.
-
Trade-Specific Tips: Ensure joints are clean and raked back to 2/3 of the tile thickness. Use the correct water ratio for mixing and avoid adding water to a setting mix. For smooth surfaces, use a damp Scotch-Brite® pad for finishing.
-
Common Issues and Solutions: Efflorescence can occur due to excess water; ensure correct water ratio and allow substrates to dry thoroughly. Colour variations can result from different water ratios; maintain consistent mixing.
