Description  

EPOCOTE™ F100W is GCP's two-part, water-based epoxy primer and sealer for concrete and other compatible construction substrates. This Adheseal listing includes Clear and Grey variants, which GCP positions differently within SILCOR® waterproofing systems.

Clear or Grey?

  • EPOCOTE F100W Clear: the general-purpose clear primer/sealer used on prepared concrete and masonry, including damp or green concrete. GCP also specifies it as a primer option beneath SILCOR membranes and on a number of non-porous substrates where the relevant membrane PDS permits.
  • EPOCOTE F100W Grey: a filled grey epoxy primer/sealer that GCP specifically calls out for highly porous, damaged or older concrete and masonry.

Moisture and SILCOR system selection

The standalone EPOCOTE F100W Clear product data allows application to damp or green concrete up to 10% moisture content. When EPOCOTE is used as part of current SILCOR 560 HB, 560 HB LVOC, 575 LB or 580 systems, follow the membrane-specific primer limits: GCP's current Australian system guidance nominates F100W Clear for prepared concrete and masonry in the 5.0% to 6.9% moisture range, or allow the substrate to dry below 5%.

  • Priming concrete before compatible GCP SILCOR waterproofing systems.
  • Priming damp, green, older or porous concrete where the relevant GCP specification permits.
  • Using Clear as a sealer to help reduce efflorescence and calcium leachate staining on compatible tiled surfaces and step risers.

Application notes

Substrates must be sound, clean and free from dust, laitance, oil, curing compounds and other bond-breaking contamination. Mix the two components exactly as directed by GCP and observe the current recoat window for the selected variant and ambient conditions.

Not a waterproofing membrane: EPOCOTE F100W is a primer/sealer. Use it with the membrane, substrate preparation and detailing specified for the complete GCP system.

Uses & Benefits  
Clear two-pack water-based epoxy primer and sealer for damp or green concrete. Suitable before compatible SILCOR and CHEMSPRAY waterproofing membranes. Bonds to damp or green concrete with up to 10% moisture content. Mix ratio is 1:1 by weight or volume and pot life is 60 minutes at 25°C. Typical application rate is 0.25kg/m², about 4m² per litre.
How To Apply  
Prepare concrete so it is structurally sound, smooth and free from dust, laitance, oil, curing compounds and release agents. Add Part B to Part A and mix for 3 minutes at low speed, stand for 5 minutes, then remix. Apply undiluted by brush or roller. For porous concrete prone to pinholes, the current GCP TDS permits a first coat diluted 10% with clean water followed by an undiluted coat within 24 hours. Allow 0.25kg/m² as the typical rate and observe the stated recoat window.
Limitations and Safety Info  
Do not apply where concrete moisture content exceeds 10%. Do not apply below 10°C or above 35°C, or above 80% relative humidity. Discard material that has begun to gel. Maximum recoat time is 24 hours at 25°C and 48 hours at 10°C. Prepare concrete to at least 25MPa and the minimum age required by the current GCP system guidance.
