Description  

Adheseal Multi-Tack is a water-based acrylic construction adhesive for bonding floor sheeting, wallboards, timber framing, cornices and mouldings. It cures to a flexible bond that helps accommodate normal movement in timber and sheet-material assemblies, making it useful on subfloors where squeaks can develop as framing moves.

Multi-Tack is a construction adhesive, not a sanitary or general-purpose caulking sealant. It grips suitable timber, particleboard, fibre-cement sheet and many common building surfaces, with simple water clean-up before curing.

Where to use Multi-Tack

  • Sheet flooring and subfloors: assisting with bonding of suitable plywood, particleboard and Scyon-type flooring to joists.
  • Tongue-and-groove joints: helping reduce squeaks between assembled floor sheets.
  • Plasterboard, cornices and trim: fixing wall sheeting, interior mouldings and suitable overhead trim.
  • Sign and caravan interiors: bonding selected timber furniture and display components.
  • Polystyrene foam components: bonding compatible foam materials where the assembly allows it.

Choosing Multi-Tack

Multi-Tack and Multi-Grip share many flooring and wallboard applications. Use the pack format and project-specific fixing method to guide selection; neither should be treated as a structural joinery glue. For tightly clamped, close-fitting timber joints, see Unobond polyurethane adhesive.

Bond to clean, sound materials and follow the board manufacturer's fastening requirements. Slightly damp substrates may be acceptable, but not standing water or saturated surfaces. Not for permanent immersion, structural glazing, mirror bonding or primary load-bearing bonds.

Is Multi-Tack suitable for plasterboard?
Yes. It complies with AS 2753 for plasterboard fixing.

Can it be used with polystyrene foam?
Yes. The water-based formulation is suitable for polystyrene foam.

Can it be used on wet surfaces?
Do not use it on surfaces saturated with water.

What coverage does a 300ml cartridge provide?
A 6mm bead covers about 9 lineal metres.

Uses & Benefits  
Water-based acrylic construction adhesive for wallboards, timber flooring, mouldings and polystyrene foam. Complies with AS 2753 for plasterboard fixing and AS 2329 for other wallboards. Elongation at break is 434% after 7 days. High solids content gives a flexible, shock-resistant bond. A 6mm bead covers about 9 lineal metres per 300ml cartridge.
How To Apply  
Use on clean, dry surfaces. Sand warped or twisted timber so mating surfaces sit flush. Apply a 6mm to 10mm bead to joists or studs. At panel butt joints, use two parallel beads about 25mm apart. Place sheets with minimal sliding while the adhesive is wet. Fasten the panels in line with the board or flooring manufacturer's fixing instructions. For tongue-and-groove floors, place adhesive into the groove where specified to help prevent squeaks. Clean uncured material with water.
Limitations and Safety Info  
Do not use on water-saturated surfaces. Do not use for constant water immersion. Apply only to clean substrates that can be fixed or supported in line with the board or flooring manufacturer's instructions. Remove uncured adhesive with water before it cures.
