For sealing gaps around internal window and door frames, cornices, plasterboard, sidings, vents, and tiles, Gap Filla Acrylic Sealant provides a flexible seal where rigid fillers are prone to cracking and falling out.
How it works
Gap Filla is an acrylic polymer sealant that cures through water evaporation into a smooth, flexible joint. It is formulated to accommodate up to 5% dynamic movement, allowing it to withstand minor settlement and thermal shifts without releasing the bond. The cured sealant is paintable and can be cleaned up with water during application, making it suitable for multi-trade interior finishing work.
Where to use it
This sealant forms an adhesive bond on common construction substrates, including:
- Glass and ceramic tiles
- Wood and plasterboard
- Brick and concrete
- Metal
Limitations
- Do not use in areas subject to water immersion.
- Do not use in chemical environments.
- Not suitable for food contact surfaces.
- Not suitable for high-temperature applications, such as stoves, fireplaces, or flues.
- Application temperature must be between +5°C and +35°C.
Numbers that matter
-
±5% dynamic movement: Accommodates minor joint movement to prevent the filler from cracking or falling out.
-
15 to 20 minutes tack-free time (at 25°C): Provides a quick skinning time to protect the joint from dust and debris before curing.
-
24 to 48 hours cure time (at 25°C): The required window for water evaporation to complete before the joint reaches full physical properties.
-
22 g/L VOC: Low-emission formulation meeting the Californian South Coast Air Quality Management Rule 1168.
