  • Required Tools: Sealant gun, closed cell polyethylene foam backing rods, Sika® Aktivator-205 (for non-porous substrates), Sika® Primer-3 N (for porous substrates), Sika® Tooling Agent N, Sika® Remover-208, Sika® TopClean T
  • Trade-Specific Tips: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and properly prepared before application. Use appropriate primers and activators for optimal adhesion. Tool the sealant firmly against joint sides to ensure proper adhesion and avoid air entrapment. Use masking tape for neat lines. Can be overpainted with most conventional facade coating paint systems after fully cured.
  • Common Issues and Solutions: Discoloration may occur due to chemical exposure, high temperatures, or UV radiation. This is purely aesthetic and does not affect performance. Avoid using tooling agents containing solvents. Do not use on natural stone, bituminous substrates, natural rubber, EPDM rubber, or building materials that might bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents.

Application Guide

  1. Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and properly prepared.
  2. Insert a suitable backing rod to the required depth.
  3. Apply any necessary primer or activator.
  4. Extrude Sikaflex® PRO into the joint, ensuring full contact with joint sides and avoiding air entrapment.
  5. Tool the sealant firmly against the joint sides.
  6. Use masking tape for neat lines and remove it within the skin time.
  7. Smooth the joint surfaces with a compatible tooling agent.

Limitations

  • Do not use on natural stone.
  • Do not use on bituminous substrates, natural rubber, EPDM rubber, or building materials that might bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents.
  • Do not use to seal joints in and around swimming pools.
  • Do not use for joints under water pressure or for permanent water immersion.
  • Do not expose uncured Sikaflex® PRO to alcohol-containing products.
